Standard Offer Electricity Rates for 2017

In 2017, electricity prices will go up for businesses that are in the small rate class and go down for the medium rate class. According to the Maine Public Utilities Commission:

“For CMP residential and small business customers who receive standard offer supply service, the accepted bids result in a new standard offer price of 6.69 cents/kWh, which is a 3.5% increase compared to prices last year. For CMP medium business customers, the new prices differ by month, equating to about 6.83 cents/kWh on average over the year, varying from 4.78 cents/kWh in May to 8.94 cents/kWh in February. These medium class prices are about 1.3% lower than prices last year.”
